So I recently updated to the newest Unreal Engine version, 4.15. And doing that, I also copied the current project I was working on to it. It went well at first, had no problems what so ever until one day I noticed the engine had problems starting up. At first, it took maybe 3 tries to get it to start (pressed it 3 times, got one editor to open up), then next time took maybe 10 tries and now it just doesn’t start up at all.
What happens is that I either press to open the project or on the editor itself, version 4.15. I get the windows loading swirl for a few seconds and then nothing else happens. Going in to current processes, I can see Unreal Engine there, each instance using around 13% of my processor and around 9.5mb of memory. Nothing happens at all, I’ve tried waiting for hours. When I try a different version out, such as 4.14, it works instantly.
Now I’ve tried to verify the client two times and re-installing it two times. No difference. I’ve started it both as an administrator and without being an administrator. I’ve tried using the launcher and going directly to the engine folder and opening it from there, with and without administrator. I’ve tried opening my game project from the folder, no difference. I have also done what the help.epicgames website suggests, like updating my GPU drivers and such.
Right now I’m totally stumped in what to do next. There are no error messages from what I can see and there has not been any major changes in my PC for the last month at least. I really want to get back to my project as soon as possible so any help is appreciated!
