Thanks.
On your matinee window, there is a movie button on the top right corner. When you click on it, you will get different settings that you can adjust for your recordings. When you are ready to record, hit ok. A new game window will pop up and your recording will start.
Your recording will be saved in “…\Unreal Projects\YourProject\Saved…” There should be a folder there called videos or movies or something along those lines.
Making sure everything is setup:
Your matinee needs to be hooked up to your level blueprint in order for this to work. So, select the matinee actor from the scene outliner and open your level blueprint. Create an “Event Begin Play” event by right clicking and searching for it by its name. After doing this right click and search for “Play” (Make sure your matinee actor is selected in the outliner before doing this) and create the play node. Hook the Event Begin Play to the play node. Open your matinee, make sure you have a director track with a keyframe setup to the camera you want to record. When you are ready to record click on the movie button on the top right corner, change the settings to whatever you like and hit play.
Note: the game wont exit when the movie recording is finished, so just close it manually once the recording is done.
Let me know if you have any doubts and I shall post screenshots of the above steps.
Hi; HypnoticShark
I used only one camera in Matinee…
And create a level blueprint following all the steps (as posted )…
But still can’t get the movie, the recording window showed realtime.
It is very appreciated if you post screenshots for all steps in both Matinee and level blueprint.
Best Regards
After setting up everything as HypnoticShark said. I think the best way to capture is recording your sequence as an images … not AVI file… you’ll be able to see what’s happening and the PC will not drop dead!
Where is the option for this? Trying to create an AVI makes Unreal unresponsive and I have to quit using CTRL+ALT+DELETE =( Thanks for the info!
