Removing Paint on Landscape Mode

Hello fellow users of UE4. I’m quite new to the game dev community let alone any type of 3-D software, so please bear with me here. I’ve recently come across a problem with the painting in landscape mode. I’ve been trying to remove paint from my landscape but it hasn’t been working for some odd reason. It says to remove paint the controls are Shift+Left Mouse Button. However, I’ve been trying that and it hasn’t been working. Can anyone help me out here?

I observed that if you created/imported/changed a big hightmap, the editor is simply still busy (but does not show you) and you cannot change any paint.

You could simply paint it over with the layer you want, instead of deleting?

Hi ,

Removing the paint will only work for cleaning up edges and cannot completely remove the paint from 1 layer but it can be painted over again. In extreme cases you could delete the layer that needs to be erased and recreate it. This will get rid of everything related to that material however. Also please remember that any paint that was directly applied to the base of the landscape cannot be deleted without deleting the layer, as it becomes the base.

I hope this helps!

Have a nice day,
