At first: My Mac doesn’t accomplish the system requirements, so i think that’s the problem, but i would like to have a confirmation if it’s because of my older hardware.
It does look like your video card doesn’t meet the minimum specs listed here:
NVIDIA GeForce 470 GTX or AMD Radeon 6870 HD series or higher
That is most likely what is causing the issues you are seeing. We’d love for you to try out UE4 on a different video card or machine, if available, but if you are unable to at this time you are welcome to request a refund from our billing department.
I have a late 2009 iMac 21 inch,4g ram etc… (10.9.2) and udk dosent look like this on mine.it runs kinda ok The only issue is that it uses tons of cpu juice and lags quite a bit.I also installed udk 4 on my 2011 macbook pro and it kinda looks like this but not as bad.Just really laggy as well.
I think we need a new machine right now. 2D games (like Tappy Chicken) don’t have these glitches, but the performance isn’t really usable, so i got a refund for now from Epic. Pretty nice from them to offer this without further questions I’ll stick back to UE4 when i got a new machine.
I had the same issue with a AMD Radeon HD 6870 but I’m on 10.8.4 without OpenGL 4.1 support. Upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.2 with OpenGL 4.1 support fixed the issue.
