    Datasmith UV Editing

During the community News on YouTube VictorLerp stated that the Documentation has information about UV editing objects imported via the Datasmith plugin. I can't find this information in the documentation....?

I'm still checking with some other team members, but I don't think we have any documentation that exists publicly yet for this feature.

You can access it in the Static Mesh Editor from the UV dropdown in the toolbar. Select Generate UVs and use the new window to set up how the UV projection should be done. I've not used it more than just a few minutes to quickly check how it works, but it doesn't appear to overwrite existing UVs. so the default UV that it sets and creates can be overwritten. In the UV dropdown menu, select that UV channel and then as you generate and play around with the settings, you'll be able to see how it's being unwrapped for the projection.

    I hope this helps.

      Hello,

the documentation on Generate UV mentioned by Tim can be found on the documentation page about Static Mesh Editor
      https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/...tor/index.html

You also have a discussion about the corresponding blueprint and python version of these functions available here

        Hi,

Is there a way to Generate UV's simultaneously for multiple static mesh actors without opening the mesh editor for every single mesh?
In my scene I have over 1300 objects imported from Revit that need the UV tiling scaled by 10 on X and Y. I can't do it manually.

        Regards.

Depending on your particular scene it may be better to do this scaling in the materials used by your static meshes.

Thanks for replying. Yeah that would be the only option if I can't fix the UV's. I was hoping the dataprep workflow would have that but there is no such thing.
Any chance it can be added in the future?

            Regards.

Can these functions be called from the Dataprep blueprint? I also want to call ConvertActors from Dataprep, is this possible?
                Thx
