unreal sketchup exporter installation problem

I have downloaded the unreal sketchup exporter. Tried to install it to my unreal 4.20 version and Sketchup 2017. It went smooth at the beginning but then when it comes to the page as in the attached screenshots, the installation window suddenly disappear and nothing more has happened. This exporter is simply not installed to my Sketchup 2017. What is the problem? Did anyone of you has experienced this? Thanks.

It could be the installer tried to install a file and couldn't, then blew up. Best to give us the details here:

The installer is silent when its done .
It can sometimes give the impression that it has not finish installing or that something wrong happen, when in fact its done installing.

If you haven't done so already , you may want to verify in the control panel if you see Unreal datasmith for Sketchup.
If its indeed not there , i will suggest that log an issue .

Dear Marie and kenpimentel, i have tried many times but still cannot get this installed. This is neither shown in the start manual when i type "UNREAL" nor there is any options in my Sketchup 2017. I saw some article saying that it is only now supporting Sketchup 2018 only.

I have lodged a report and hope will my unreal studio up and running.

We support both 2017 and 2018 now, so that isn't the issue. It could be something special about your Windows machine that we haven't run into. Our team will work with you to solve it.

Hi Chi Fai, you might as well check your SketchUp whether it's Make or Pro. As far as I know, the plugin only works on Pro version of SketchUp.

Yes, this is because SketchUp doesn't allow plug-ins with the free version, only the Pro version. This isn't our decision, it is what is required by SketchUp.

I have checked that I am using Sketchup 2017 pro version. just that it still does not work.

Have you tried running the installer using the right-click option 'run as administrator' ? SketchUp has had problems before when people install SketchUp (or plugins) not using this. Just a wild guess.

I just tried re-installing UnrealDatasmithSketchUp Exporter from the download page :
https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/studio/downloads

In the install process I selected SketchUp Pro 2017.
Once the install was done .
I opened SketchUp 2017
--> Files --> export --> 3d model
Export window appear --> save as type --> Unreal datasmith (*.udatasmith)
It all worked fine for me.

If you could please add as many details as you can.
By that i mean:
OS version and other software that you may have on your computer that could maybe interfere.
