    [RELEASED] FPS Battle Royale Template with Gamesparks

    Hi all,

    My blueprint project is now live, in which you will be able to create your own Battle Royale game using Gamesparks Realtime and Matchmaking backend.

    Description:

    FPS Battle Royale Template is a 100% Blueprint project that turns your Battle Royale type game into a reality. No longer will you have to worry about setting up multiplayer with those pesky dedicated servers nor having to pay a hosting company for overpriced servers. All multiplayer networking is provided by Gamesparks, using their plugin that you can easily download for free on the marketplace.

    This is a comprehensive blueprint project, not an importable blueprint asset. While you could also use this as a learning step to implement Gamesparks Realtime into your own current project, this specific project is recommended to be used as a base for a project.

    FPS Battle Royale Template has the basic setup for a last man standing type game. After finding a match through the Gamesparks matchmaking process, the player is entered into a game where they start with nothing and are forced to find weapons to defeat all of their opponents until they are the only one left alive.

    I have already made a tutorial video which describes how the project itself works. I will be creating more videos in the future about how to setup the Gamesparks backend and how to integrate other marketplace assets into the project.

                Hi,

                It is currently in the review phase by the Unreal Marketplace team, I'm not sure how long that will take, maybe like 2-4 weeks based on what I hear from other creators. This is my first marketplace submission so I don't know how long it takes to go from submission to release.

                Price is $39.99.

                I'm currently working on an integration video with other marketplace assets. This is my first time making videos as well so sorry about the quality.

                Someone also asked about adding AI, which will be slightly more complicated due to the server being Gamesparks, and not a UE dedicated server, that would be controlling behavior. It is entirely possible to write an AI controller in the Gamesparks backend though using their JavaScript engine, I would just have to figure that out.

                        ok ive download the file to have a play about with it so i sent my friend the a package file so we started up the game and there was no items (gun) spawning in the map so i checked it my end one in package and one in editor here is the photo from my phone

                          Hi, I'll respond here so everyone can see as well.

                          There is an issue with the construction script of the BattleRoyaleGameMode blueprint not running on the packaged version. From what I could research, it seems that construction scripts are really only run in-editor for the unpackaged version or on dynamically created objects for the packaged version.

                          The fix for this is simple since the script was just setting up variables. I just set the default values of the variables I was changing in the blueprint itself. After I did this, when I packaged the project, guns/ammo/bandages spawned in the world.

                          I'll create a short video going through the fix.

                            Very cool. I generally know what I am doing in blueprints but I am very new to networking and gamesparks so I have a couple of questions.

                            1. When changing stuff about the character, like adding a 3rd weapon slot, or making weapon new weapon stats, do you have to use the Gamesparks API or can you just make changes in the blueprint?
                            2. Would third person be difficult to setup? What I mean is, are there things in your code that are FP only stuff that could make converting super inconvenient.
                            3. I would like to use one of the ballistics plugins, will work need to be done on them to make them work with Gamesparks?
