  • [WIP] Blueprint Assist Plugin

    Hey everyone, update about version 1.0!

    The main features of version 1.0 will be:
    1. Automatic node positioning
    2. Resizing comment boxes
    3. Smart-wiring hotkey (and option for always smart-wire on creation)
    4. Mouse-free blueprint controls


    These are features which can be done WITHOUT an engine pull request! Once these features are done I'll be showing how they work in a video, you can also follow me on twitter @funcpwong to see some WIP gifs.

    Version 2.0 will come after the pull request is implemented and add some quality of life improvements to v1.0 as well as some others miscellaneous features.

    Plugin Details:
    • Release date: Will update this in December
    • Price: $15-25 or if I get a dev grant free!


    Completed features / subfeatures:
    • Rerformatting a chain of nodes [1]
    • Reformatting a node's input pins [1]
    • Auto-resizing comment boxes [2]
    • Smart-wiring (hotkey for selected node, option for newly created node) [3]
    • Keyboard controls to select nodes [4]
    • Hotkey for the Blueprint Context Menu [4]
    • Deleting a node in chain A-B-C will connect A-C [Misc, PullReq]
    • Anchor / Padlock feature to lock nodes from moving [Misc]


    Todo:

    PullReq: This feature is waiting on a pull request I have made
    EngineChange: I have yet to make a pull request but I think this needs an engine change

                Wire to drag sounds useful! From what I've seen it's not possible to access the dragging functions from a plugin, will have another look though.
                But I will have a hotkey which connects selected nodes, achieving a similar affect.

                The context menu buttons I have no idea if I can access that, will look into it.

                Currently thinking either $15 or $20. Also might look into getting a dev grant and putting it into the engine. This way I could also add other features which aren't possible in a plugin

                  As soon as I saw this, I thought it would make sense to try to get it into the engine. Glad to see your dev grant app for that. Hope they take notice. /luck.
