    [GAUGING INTEREST] Crafting/Recipe and Ingredient Components

    Hello, I have been working on a Crafting / Recipe and Ingredient component and setup. I am wondering if this very specific work would be of interest for anyone to purchase on the Marketplace. What I have now is
    • Data Assets for defining Recipes and Ingredients
    • Fully network capable Component that manages Recipe Creation and Ingredient storage, with validation
    • Core base defined for what happens when a recipe is created (Makes more ingredients, or spawns an actor in the world are defaults that were added)
    • Fully replicated for the Owner.
    • Automation Tests to validate adding and removing Ingredients as well as creating Recipes.
    • Customization in Blueprints or C++
    • Built as a Plugin


    Some nice to haves that I might work on are
    • UMG Default Widget
    • Slate Default Widget


    And work that I am continuing on right now is a derived class for AI where it can determine what Recipes to create (Craft) based on its current supply of Ingredients (Materials).

    I'd be interested in better crafting system then what I have made now. My only concern would be how easily adaptable it is to the Action RPG Inventory blueprint system. If its a somewhat simple hook up them I am all for it
    Current Project - *shush shush* Ehh.. When its ready?

      It is made up of a single component and has all the necessary functions to add, remove, and craft. Ingredients and recipes are data assets. So integration into another project would be just as easy or hard as that project makes integrating components.

        SQLite support would be ideal for those who have large data they would like to be implemented....

          Thanks for the suggestion. However, SQL support would be out of scope of the project. The main reason would be the complexity versus the purpose of the plugin. Is no SQL support a deal breaker for this plugin?

            SQLite support would negate the need to use data tables... And, for large projects with TONS of inventory (recipes, ingredients, etc.) it would be easier to manage. As long as the source is available I could figure out how to add support. At least for me...it would be critical. Thanks!

                Small misunderstanding. The system does not use DataTables, but rather DataAsset UObjects. This makes it easier to add customization later on in the road. But I think where I see where you are getting with this. And again, this is just to gauge interest to see whether I will be selling this or not in the Marketplace. So far, the polls indicate I shouldn't spend the time doing so (as I would then have to spend time supporting it - which, if the customer base is too small, results in lost revenue).
