    Hey M_PoLO_! Thanks for pointing this out to us. We're currently in the process of updating the FPS tutorial. I'll make sure to add your notes to our project.

    Aloha,

    it seems, that the Niagara How To site is somewhat busted. The "How to Create a Beam Effect in Niagara" miss several images, and the video vor the End Result is also missing

    Hello dear epic games team,

    in the First Person Shooter Tutorial 1.3 is a small mistake ->

    This function declaration allows you to override the StartPlay() function (inherited from the AActor class)
    The StartPlay is inherited from AGameModeBase not from AActor.

    Kind regards
    Martin

    Hey arkhovan! Thanks for pointing this out to us. I've made a ticket and passed this along to the rest of the team. We'll take a look and work to get this updated asap.

    Hey S-ed. Thanks for pointing this out to us. Let me ask around and get back to you.

    Hey Dominic.BW. Yeah, it looks like this page hasn't been touched in a bit. I'll pass it along to the rest of the group to see if we can prioritize updating it.

    Hey TheAx1aL! Thanks for reaching out to us. Let me try and address your concerns individually.

    1. We have a lot of API reference docs that can help explain (and occasionally provide examples of) C++ code in UE (see a list here: https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/...ons/index.html). I'd also recommend checking out the Programming Quick Start (https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/...art/index.html) for helping getting started using C++ in UE.

    If there are specific functions that aren't covered in our docs, let us know and we will try and add them (alternatively, you can poke around online as another UE user might have posted some info).

    2. Blueprints is an easier place to start for a lot of people using UE. That said Blueprints is a visual scripting language based on C++, and a lot of the ideas should translate between the two development methods. As such we have a number of guides that initially teach a concept using Blueprints, with the intention that you may eventually move towards doing more stuff with C++.

    3. I'd need to do some digging to answer your question about which header files to include with Niagara. If you can find the API reference page associated with the function you're using, it should tell you which header file you need.

    4. We understand that it can be frustrating, and we're sorry if our docs don't have all the information you need. While we encourage users to let us know when they find blind spots in the docs (the docs are a living thing that we are constantly striving to improve), there are other resources that might be able to offer more targeted help. The UE4 Answers Hub (https://answers.unrealengine.com/index.html) is a great place to post specific questions about using the engine, and where other users might be able to offer help. Another great option that offers fee-based support is the Unreal Developer Network (https://udn.unrealengine.com/).

    I hope this helps and again thanks for reaching out to us. Please let us know if you have any other questions or suggestions specifically pertaining to UE documentation.

    Hello!

    https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/...als/index.html

    This page has a diagram of material graph with numbers designating elements. There are two issues with it.
    1. The elements go from right to left, contrary to normal graph flow.
    2. The legend text has all numbers replaced with "1"s.

    CameraAnim seems deprecated in 4.25. Where we can find a migration guide?

    Hello!
    I suggest posting some kind of example for C++ functions.It's really hard for me,a beginner(I don't know about everyone),to understand how to implement some functions and what they are doing.Seems like the Blueprint version of the engine gets more attention than the scripting side.Also I'm trying for hours to get to understand how to add Niagara plugin to scripting,I found what function to use,but how to add the headers file I didn't(it gives me that the source file cannot be found,tried to put it in Build.cs,etc). I'm a beginner to Unreal scripting,but I used C++ before and I understand some things about it,but man it's hard to understand and find suitable answers for my questions.I came from Unity,and I'm not trying to say that they are better or anything (that's why I switched to unreal),but when I needed to understand a function or a class what it does,it was faster and easier to understand...and not because they use C# and C++ is much harder or anything,that's not the problem,the problem it's understanding what to do using what you have.
    I hope you understand what I'm trying to explain,and would like to clarify any misunderstandings if needed.Thank you!

    Hey alexsb92! Thanks for reaching out to us. I am actually in the process of updating the code and images for the entire FPS tutorial. It might take another week or so, but we're working on it.

    There's some issue with the code in the C++ Tutorial, specifically that on this page: https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/...2/8/index.html

    1. In FPSCharacter.h, VS complains about not finding UCameraComponent. Based on googling, adding
    Code:
    #include "Camera/CameraComponent.h"
    fixes that issue
    2. In FPSCharacter.cpp, VS complains about the following line:
    Code:
     FPSCameraComponent->SetupAttachment(GetCapsuleComponent());
    . This seems to be the fix for it
    FPSCameraComponent->SetupAttachment((USceneComponent*)GetCapsuleComponent());
    .

    I *think* these fixes are the right ones but I'm not sure. The reason i say that is that running the provided code (with fixes) doesn't actually hide the 3rd person view mesh, as seen in the image attached. Click image for larger version

    Hey MostHost LA! Thanks for pointing this out to us. I've been updating the Niagara pages (others look to be a little off) and this is the next one on my list. I hope to take a look at this and fix the issues soon.
