Thank you for your request, I have entered a feature request, UE-14094 to be considered by the development staff.

As far as I can tell, when someone messages you in the launcher, it does not notify you in any way that they are trying to talk to you.

The task bar needs to blink or something. I think I have missed every conversation ever started there.
