FilterView for Epic Games Launcher Vault

I've been using a lot of marketplace assets and my Vault has become cluttered over the years. I reckon that's the case for many of us. Thus I am proposing the following feature (or derivates of it):

Allow users to filter and sort the Vault:
    • By purchase date
    • Ascending/Descending
    • By "Add To Project" and "Create Project"
    • By non-unreal educational packages and unreal educational packages (redeemed via learn.unrealengine.com)

    Or another approach:
    • Allow user to add custom labels to every element inside Vault
    • i.e. "education", "Animation", "Environment" and so on
Then the user could check/uncheck categories to show. For example: I check "education" and uncheck all other labels. This then allow me to swiftly find all packages that I've personally downloaded via learn.unrealengine.com and labeled "education".

I hope this gets attention since it would improve the usability of the Epic Games Launcher Vault massively.

We also need an option to manage/filter assets with pending updates.
Installed plugins are fine, but try to find that one asset in your Vault, which triggers the "Update Available" notice!

A couple of updates for the launcher are in the works to help improve the usability of the Vault, but we've been collecting all your input for the team. Thanks for sharing and keep it coming!

That's great to hear, but given that a similar statement ("A redesign with these kinds of features is in the works") dates back as far as July last year...
does "in the works" mean 'being actively worked on' or merely 'being planned'?

Firstly: Thanks for replying. Knowing that the Epic Games team reads this thread is nice.

Two questions in reply to your mesage:
                          1. Would the team working on the Epic Games Launcher be willing to open-source some aspects of the frontend components for open-contributions?
                          And, more importantly,
                          2. When can we expect this feature to appear specifically?

Keep waiting if you like... But as Cpt.Trips said, users have been waiting years for key Launcher features.
So you'd be better off just managing the assets yourself using your own system of tags in file-folder names.
Or use searchable files if you need a more advanced catalog to organize / sort things in more flexible ways.
Then you also don't need to worry about the Launcher deleting the wrong pack or exceeding max asset cap.

You need a system anyway for organizing assets from other 3D Marketplaces / CommunityTools / YT / GDC.

Also the Launcher has ongoing privacy issues, and overall anyway as a Downloader its as 'dumb as a brick'!
For example, you can't download packs for a range of engine versions unless they all exist locally on that rig!
You can get around this by keeping blank project templates or empty projects for every engine version though.
But it doesn't work for 'Plugins' as there's no docs on what ini-json/reg-key/dll/manifest the Launcher looks for...

Amanda.Schade and @ Unreal Developer Team: Thank you so much for the update! I literally stood up from my chair and cheered like a little child when I saw the "Filter by" on the VAULT. Really great news. I'm glad that your user's opinions matter to you (as this is a testament of it once again). At all the others: Thanks for keeping this thread alive, I don't think we would've gotten this feature this year without your help.
