    In which state is the RT Translucency in the 4.23 release? Because if transparency affects neither reflection nor shadow, then the application area for transparency is quiet minimal.

        Is Project Settings > Engine - Rendering > "mask material only in early z-pass" working/fixed?

        I read something about it, and people say it give a huge performance boost, however there was developers saying it was working on 4.21, but it's not work on Unreal 4.22 and it would work again on 4.23.

        I tried "mask material only in early z-pass" on my 4.22 project and I think it's not working because my performance/fps was the same.

          It won't make that much of a difference in performance if you're not using a lot of masked stuff, with a bunch of overdraw, like trees and grass. You can see if it's working by looking at a masked actor in material complexity view mode (Alt+8). When "Mask material only in early z-pass" is enabled, you should only see the masked part of the material. If it's not working, you'll see the masked material the same as you would a transparent one: the transparent parts cause overdraw and are colored more towards red in material complexity view mode.

              Okay! Regarding PointLight crashes - I found a strange workaround to allow for Point Lights without crashing.
              Have not tested in Preview 4, but this was the finding in Preview 3.

              I needed to enable RayTracing first, then add point lights, and that served a s the 'Key' to add point lights without issue.
              Because then I could enable and disable Raytracing and add as many point lights as I wanted and UE4 would not crash, no matter what I did.

              Now, I was always running the -dx12 version of Preview 3, perhaps that was an issue here.
              Like, maybe if I had run non-dx12 it would have accepted point lights fine from the outset (in Raster/non-Raytrace)

                    Hey Unreal people!

                    Just wanted to say thanks to the devs for the continued improvements to the engine!

                    I also would like to point out that as of 4.23 (preview 4) things on Android (ES3.1) are a little crazy.

                    1. "mobile multi-view" causes the screen to go black when the game is cooked. Previously this only happened when this feature was enabled alongside "Mobile HDR", but as of 4.23 it happens regardless of the HDR setting.

                    2. All of the faces on my meshes are now inverted when viewed on my android device. (turned inside out). This bug seems to have been caused by the fix implemented for UE-74656.

                          If it is experimental it is ok to submit a report, but if it was already mentioned as unsupported then maybe not, but I would submit anyway even if to receive a definitive response about its being supported or not.

                            Cannot express enough how much better the steamVR game thread controller positions are now with the new pose retrieval in 4.23 p4. Its like night and day, around half as much latency as before.....

                                Glad you found that second issue cause I stumbled on that as well and couldn't work it out! Could you post the issue here so we can upvote it?
