    Spectator screens are now supported on the Oculus and HTC Vive.

      Also, shadow biasing seems to have been heavily improved, point and spotlights have perfect shadows with as low as 0.01 bias in most situations now, which means no more peter panning or acne all over the place - they don't use the new filter yet though, but I'm sure that'll change once this feature becomes finalised.
      Thanks, I totally missed that this was added. I assume it'll be featured more prominently in the final release (assuming it's considered stable enough I guess) but it's working great for me so far.

      Even for a scene that's statically lit it's great for area shadows in that it allows for super-crisp up-close shadows without needing high-res light-maps just for direct lighting, and it also blends pretty easily* with baked shadows in the distance. I've only noticed a couple of pretty minor glitches too, which are probably attributable to limitations of the technique rather than implementation bugs. Performance impact doesn't seem too problematic either.

      *although the behavior of directional light angles for lightmass and PCSS don't quite seem to be one-to-one -- this might be attributable to a clamp on how big of a penumbra PCSS can support.

        It's bit odd that you have two light angle parameters at directional light. You can configure the shadow filter kernel max radius.

              ARKit support is coming, but due to scheduling, it wasn't able to make the early previews. We're shooting to have it out for 4.17 in Experimental form, which will be the same plugin code which we released at WWDC.

              Also, Google Tango support is already in the 4.17 Preview, and has been developed in cooperation with Google's team, and replaces the old external plugin that is available online.

                  I just updated, but the launcher still refers to it as "Preview 1".
                  Is this correct?

                      Thanks for the update - especially about the Tango support! Would love to see a simple example project does something exist? Like a character a user can place on a surface and the character walks around it?

                        I'm getting a warning: "warning C4828: The file contains a character starting at offset 0x7b that is illegal in the current source character set (codepage 65001)".
                        Never happened before. I think it's the copyright character © in my comments. FYI this happens while I package a Win64 game from the editor.

                        It's worth noting that none of my logs (build or runtime) have any extraneous warnings/errors anymore. Well done on that end!

                            Just an observation: if you have enough information to tell us we are including a dependency in the Build.cs file but not in the uproject/uplugin file then you have enough information that we shouldn't need to indicate its inclusion twice.

                                when i download github branch staging 4.17 .. compile and run editor ..
                                it shows version as 4.18.0
                                is anyone else seeing the same thing ?
