Widget inside a widget not showing data

Hi there,

So I have an ‘Equipment Slot’ widget that shows fine during normal gameplay (with an equipped weapon icon and data about it) but when I add that same widget inside another widget, with the idea that it would basically just mirror what the original ‘Equipment’ Widget shows, it does not display anything inside it.
This might be a really simple thing but for some reason it is eluding me. Can anyone help please?

To make the duplicate Equipment widget I am just dragging it from the list of widgets on the top left, then I’ve tried running a function manually on the widget to update it but its always empty. Argh. I’ve searched but cannot find anyone with the same issue.
