I made a project on Unreal version 4.12, but since updating it to 4.14.3, the third person character became much larger in scale, and the once correctly configured root motion seems to be too slow compared to how fast the player should be going per animation.
Why does 4.14.3 make the third person character so large and the root motion too slow compared to the animation speed?
We resolved some issues with Root Motion in 4.15. Could you try upgrading your project to 4.15?
Another thing to try is to upgrade from 4.12 to 4.13, then to 4.14. This is our suggested route of upgrading past multiple versions.
