So I’m not sure why is is still happening, I’ve been trying to solve this issue of dark spots showing up on the mesh for a while. They only show up after I build the lighting so I’m pretty sure it is something to do with that.
What I have tried so far:
- Adjusted the lightmap UVs, made the islands farther apart, made them smaller, made them larger, cut the islands in different ways, etc
- Tried different lightmap resolutions in powers of 2. 32, 64, 128, etc
- Tried higher and lower values of indirect lighting with the light source
- Tried different quality levels of lighting build, lowest to highest.
- Tried different settings on the import of unreal and the export of blender, different normal import method, tried having unreal generate the UVs, etc
