Where do you find the Animation and Rigging Toolkit?

Hey pipdixel,

You can find the Animation and Rigging Toolkit and instructions for installing it here (assuming you installed to your C: drive):

C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\4.0\Engine\Extras\Maya_AnimationRiggingTools\MayaTools

Hope that helps!

Ben Halliday

OK. Saw a video on the Animation and Rigging Toolkit that can be used with Maya, and I really can’t figure out where you download it from to load into Maya. I assume its a plugin? I am a subscriber. Thanks for any direction.

Verified with Maya 2014 and Win 7! I would give my left leg for this toolkit, it is amazing! (coming from a novice rigger/animator with a cs degree)

Hi Ben

Thanks for that. This plugin isn’t available on mac is that correct?

Hi, I am also wondering where the animation and rigging toolkit resides on mac.

I am also interested in where the toolkit is on Mac.

Sorry for the inconvenience, We are aware that these tools did not get added in with the Mac version and are working on getting them in there

Hi, I installed the engine on a pc and copied the toolkit to my mac. After install the icons doesn’t show upp in Maya. Is there a version of the ART that is tested on OS X?

There is not, but I will work with some people at Epic on getting a mac to test on and getting icons converted to an appropriate file format for mac OS. I believe it wants xmp files instead of bmps.

Nick, can you send me a bug for getting icons working for mac and getting the tools tested on a mac? Thank you sir!

Hi Jeremy, I thought I’d post this here for you, instead of creating a new thread.
I’m getting an error -

Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2014/scripts/others/performGpuCacheExport.mel line 561: IOError: file C:/Users/Dave/Documents/maya/MayaTools/General/Scripts\customMayaMenu.py line 249: 2

with the current tool-set, but my previous “Rocket” one is still working. So I followed the steps to install the new set and got the above error :frowning:
Luckily my “Rocket” set still works, but as you probably remember, they’re not quite as comprehensive as your new set.

I’m on a PC, Windows 7 64 bit Pro with 16 gig of RAM and a cheap AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series graphics card.
Any ideas would be appreciated .

Thanks, Dave

Nick, do you have any idea about when this option will be available for mac?

Please we need this for mac!!! thanks to all the developers! and congratz!

Hey folks,

I created a master thread that will detail answers to frequently asked questions, known issues, and all of the latest code drops:

ART Master Thread

Has the toolkit been updated to mac yet as its been roughly 5 months since the first post. I have downloaded 4.4.0 and still cant find it, but, thats probably just me. Does anyone else have it for mac yet?, or is it still not in?

not yet. definitely working on it! You can track the progress here:

Hi Jeremy. I’ve been following that website for a couple of months already. Is there no Mac version as of present?

Hi. This toolkit comes with installation files of Unreal Engine 4. You can check detailed steps to integrate it with maya here http://www.unrealenginetutorials.com/add-animation-and-rigging-tools-in-maya/

Guys the mac version is in the 4.10 version of UE4. Just go to your Epic games directory then from there its epicgames/engine/extras/maya animation and rigging toolkit. in there you will see the mac folder and windows folder to the toolkit.

I’m sorry, where exactly is this? I’ve looked all over for the Epic Games directory. So far, I’ve found an epic Games folder in my User Library and another one in the main Library folder. Neither contains an extras folder. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
