Weird lighting glitches

Hello all

I’m having some weird yet interesting glitches happening whenever I rotate a mesh and I don’t even know where to look for a solution.

These tiles are the same 2 by 2 mesh, but they receive lighting differently depending on which way they are rotated. This one is a bit lighter than the others are rotate -90 on Z for example. I have never had this happen in my 6 years in engine so cant really figure it out.

I’m really baffled and would love to hear either your solution or theory.

Greetings @Dennishierta Is it just that one square that is lighter than the others or all of them? It almost looks like a dynamic lighting or AA issue on it.

Only the ones that is rotated, but yes all of them could technically change, it does seem like it gets stronger when changing the normal intensity in my flatten normals node, but i dont know if its the culprit or not since it never goes away even if the normal is set as default strength.

I think I found the solution, basically what happened is that whenever I baked my normalmap for the flooratlas the normals got corrputed which for some reason wasnt really visible inside of mixer, but having a look at the actual normalmap.tga file it acted as if the X channel was inverted. dont know how or why since there was nothing wrong with the bake options in blender. I rebaked them and reimported them into mixer and it seems to have fixed my issue.

Oh, right on! Well, I’m happy that you got it sorted and thanks for posting the solution. This is helpful for the community! Have a great week!
