(VR) Push/pull character limbs and have them snap back?

How do I create the effect where you can interact with other characters by pushing them or pulling their limbs with the motion controllers in VR, and have them spring back into their animation. I want to pummel enemies around, like in Gorn or Raw Data for example. Do I use physics asset blending for this? I’m trying some stuff, but it all seems super buggy, with weird spazzy movements.
