[VR Editor] It used to be possible to enter VR Editor without Steam VR

Now it seems that Steam VR must be running, is this the case for the latest VR Editor source, or can this be undone? If so, does anyone know how?

In the previous build, I used the following commands to improve performance in the VR Editor,

-nosteamvr -nodashboard

Here’s what I get now, if SteamVR is not running - a faded button!

Is there a specific location in the code that checks for steamvr - if so can I disable this without crippling the VR Editor?
