Using lightmps from 3ds max / Vray


Iv’e pretty much got the method down, we’re using a mixture of Total lighting maps and Complete maps inside UE4 to get a detailed scene in vray in UE4. WHilst the complete maps are relatively simple (Just putting the map in the diffuse slot of the material) the Total light maps are prooving to be a bit of a pain.

What we’ve done to date is simple multiply the totaly light map into the diffuse channel with the underlaying texture and also multiply that into the Emmisive colour slot, whilst this works its by no meeans perfect. Is there a better way of using external lightmaps both Vray Complete maps and vray total lighting maps!
