Updated 11/15/24 - Fab: List of Known Issues

We’re aware of a few things that aren’t working as expected – thank you for your patience as we work on improving these items post launch.

This post doesn’t address feature requests. We have published a product roadmap where you can see what features and larger fixes we’re working on.

We’ve also begun sharing release notes to keep everyone updated on what’s new and getting fixed – you can find them here.

NEW AND ONGOING ISSUES

Listings get stuck during product upload as a result of non-Latin characters in filenames

If you are a publisher and attempt to upload a product file with non-Latin characters in the filename, the listing will get stuck during publishing. As a workaround, we recommend restricting filenames to Latin characters.

Quixel Megascans do not appear in My Library after claiming them all

After you claim all Megascans, you can access them from the Quixel profile on Fab, but they will not be added to My Library at this time. We’re working on a solution to provide easy access to all of your claimed assets via My Library.

  • UPDATE 10/23: You may now add individual assets to your Fab library; we do not yet have a solution to add them all to your library. If you have claimed all assets, each Megascans listing page will correctly indicate that “You own this item” even if the item does not appear in your library.

  • UPDATE 10/25: No update at this time.

  • UPDATE 10/30: No update at this time.

  • UPDATE 11/7: We’re looking into an interim solution that will add a tile to your library to direct you to the Quixel publisher profile page, which shows all the assets you have claimed.

  • UPDATE 11/15: This is in the discovery phase of planning.

  • UPDATE 11/27: No update at this time.

Publishers cannot delete Declined listings via either the Listings page or the edit page for the listings.
  • Added 11/15: We expect to resolve this within the coming weeks.

  • UPDATE 11/27: Work is ongoing.

Some animations coming from Sketchfab are not transferring properly to Fab.
  • Added 11/15: Our team is investigating this.

  • UPDATE 11/27: Work is ongoing.

The badge for owned content does not always appear in search.
  • Added 11/15: There’s a fix on its way.

  • UPDATE 11/27: The fix has been merged but is pending publication.

RESOLVED

Drag and drop functionality from My Library is not working - resolved 11/27/2024

The ability to drag and drop Fab content from My Library within the UE5 and UEFN integrations is currently unavailable. We are working to re-enable this functionality and hope to share an update soon. In the meantime, you can add anything from your library into UE or UEFN by clicking the Add to Project button. You may also drag and drop free or already purchased assets into your project from Search results.

Resolution: This has been added to our product roadmap. We will consider this resolved for now and announce the feature release at a later date.

Some UEFN listings cannot currently display the Personal license - resolved 11/27/2024

Resolution: This issue has been fixed.

Communication could be improved regarding ratings that have been received but are not visible on the product page - resolved 11/7/24

Ratings do not appear on a product’s listing page until that product has received 5 or more ratings. This is the expected behavior. Because of this, buyers who submit a rating for a product before that product has received 5+ ratings will not see their rating instantly reflected on the product’s listing page. Their rating will, however, be taken into account when it comes to the overall product rating that will appear on the product page after the minimum ratings threshold is met.

Resolution: We made changes recently to improve how ratings are handled in search. It’s also possible to see a rating that you have given a product even if that rating does not yet display publicly. Finally, we have logged a feature request to add the number of ratings a product has received to the search results display for that product. We are considering this issue resolved.

Currency displayed while shopping differs from currency shown during checkout - resolved 11/7/2024

Prices that you see on listing pages are set according to the language and locale from which you are viewing Fab (e.g., English would display listing prices in US Dollars). Once you have added a product to your cart, however, the price will display according to the billing country indicated on your Epic Games account. So for example, if the site is set to Spanish but you are located in the United Kingdom, the checkout flow will display prices in Great British Pounds.

Resolution: We have added this to our list of backlogged items and now consider this issue resolved.

Number of ratings on a UE Marketplace product may differ from the number of ratings on the same product on Fab - resolved 11/7/24

In some cases, for products migrated from Unreal Engine Marketplace to Fab, the listing page on Fab may show a smaller number of star ratings than were shown on UE Marketplace.

Resolution: The difference between ratings counts is due to products having received ratings on UE Marketplace after those products were migrated to Fab. We have added this to our list of backlogged items and now consider this issue resolved.

Organizational capabilities within My Library are not as robust as we would like - resolved 10/30/24

Resolution: We’re exploring options to better manage My Library. We will consider this issue resolved and update the community about new organizational features when they become available.

Sort and filter functionalities in Search treat products with no visible ratings as though they have visible ratings - resolved 10/30/24

Products with fewer than five ratings are being returned in Search results as though their ratings are visible. This has led to customer confusion understanding how search results were ordered.

Resolution: Products with fewer than 5 ratings are treated by sort and filter functionalities as though they have no ratings. When they reach 5 ratings, ratings will display and the products will be sorted and filtered correctly according to user preferences.

Fab's UEFN integration was inaccessible to some users - resolved 10/29/24

Resolution: We fixed the bug and users should no longer be encountering access issues.

Fab's UE plugin prevents packaging of projects - resolved 10/28/24

Resolution: The bug has been fixed and the Fab plugin no longer prevent project packaging.

The relevancy of search results is lower than expected - resolved 10/25/24

Resolution: To improve relevancy of Search results, we adjusted how titles, descriptions, and tags influence results. As more data comes in we’ll continue to make refinements. Improvements will be ongoing.**

Wrong file version being imported to UE5 via the Fab Plugin - resolved 10/25/24

We are aware of an issue that may cause the wrong file version to be downloaded for some products through the UE5 Fab Plugin. This may cause errors when trying to use the product, as the version may not be compatible with the version of UE you are currently using. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you encounter this problem, you can still download the correct version of the content from the Epic Games Launcher.

Resolution: When you bring a file into your UE project from Fab, that file should now be the version of the product that matches the version of UE that you’re working in. If no match exists, the most recent version of the product will be added.

Fab integration within UEFN is unavailable - resolved 10/23/24

The Fab integration in UEFN is undergoing maintenance and will be back online shortly, and the Fab integration in the Unreal Engine 5 Editor is coming soon.

Resolution: Fab integration for UE was released and the Fab integration for UEFN came back online on October 23.

Error state encountered when attempting to install Plugins and Projects from Fab - resolved 10/23/24

Plugins and Projects that you acquire may appear in the Fab integrations but if you attempt to install those file types from the Fab integrations using the Add to Project button, you will encounter an error. Plugins and Projects must be installed from your Epic Vault. We will replace the current button to prevent encountering an error state.

Resolution: Updated to fix the error. You can now use Add to Library to View in Vault any Plugins or Projects from Fab.
