Unreal Or Unity for Naval Warfare Sim

A friend an I are planning to make a World Of Warships like game with several twists.
We are considering using Unreal over Unity, though we never touched Unreal before, this is just for fun so we don’t mind learning how to use Unreal.
How does Unreal handle water and boat sim and physics?

Unreal looks like an amazing engine to use but are we better off sticking to Unity for this type of project?

You can check the community ocean project if it’s for fun.

otherwise making water/boats is all custom stuff you need to develop yourself similarly to the ocean project.

The new engine version includes a perhaps better water shader. Same as seen in fortnite - though their water is super cartoonish the blend with transparency is nice…
