I’ve been studying Unreal Match 3 example using UE4.12.5 version and before making any complex change, I’ve just added a variable called “AnyVariable” after “BombPower” variable in the struct FTileAbilities (Tile.h), in other words, I just added an ability.
However, after compiling the code the editor is not updated.
And yes, I opened VS from Editor.
This is a common problem with Hot Reload, it’s not a stable solution, and is prone to erroneous behavior like this.
Close the editor, wait 10 seconds, then re-compile via VS. It should delete the Hot Reload modules and produce a single module for your game. Then everything should work when you re-open the editor.
