I had exactly this error since 4.24. I updated to 4.24.1, .2, .3, 4.25, and now 4.25.1. I would see dozens of UE4 Editor crashes in a day - often while trying to save - and submitted logs of 50% of the crashes to Epic. Other than UE4, all other software seemed to work perfectly fine. It was driving me nuts and I almost quit using UE4. I’m using an NVIDIA Geforce 1660 with 6GB of RAM on Windows 10, at 1440 x 900 resolution.
Finally solved it with this:
Go to NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings.
Select
ue4editor.exe
, and change Antialiasing - FXAA to off.
I did this 2 weeks ago, and haven’t had a crash since.
I understand that FXAA increases memory usage, and it’s possible that some settings take memory beyond what’s available on your memory card. Alternatively, try turning off other features for the UE4 Editor from the NVIDIA Control Panel.
