Unknown feature? Getting rid of darkening and lighten up

So I don’t know how the feature is called, otherwise my google fu would have figured it out by now. I’ve been building this level (used ‘TimeOfDay’ template) and when I look at a wall real close the screen darkens and when I look towards a light area the screen brightens up. I don’t know how or why. I tried making a copy of my level and replaced the DirectionalLight, Skylight, SkyAtmosphere and the skyDomeMesh, but to no avail. My other levels don’t have this “feature”.

Help me, let me bathe in your wisdom.

Eye adaptation.

Thanks to your response I found out about Eye adaptation (which works in the editor), and in extend found about outer exposure (which can be set in post process volume and in project settings).
