Unit Testing and Automation Testing: working around lack of hot-reload

How is it done in UE4? I’ve looked through the documentation and played around with the automation testing tools but the lack of hot-reload for tests seems like a huge oversight.

How are people managing this in larger UE4 projects? Are there work-arounds? Are people using external tools for testing?

I’d also be interested in hearing more about best practices for using the automation testing - we’re not currently using it but I’d like to in the future.
