Running the initial alignment completely from scratch (just imported images) and I get this error. Tried clearing my cache and hitting reset on the options. Any help?
Hello,
How many images do you use for this project. Do you have enough space on you hard drive. Does this happen to all datasets or just in this particular one?
Tried it with the 45m flight alone which is about 800 images, tried the 80m flight which is about 400 images and tried both combined and every time it crashes with that error. Had it happen once before on a different project but was able to avoid it by picking the gcps after the alignment.
have enough space on the HD and I also cleared cache and reset all options to just make sure
Could it have something to do with the parentheses in the name?
Hello, It also happen a lot to me. I’m almost certain it happen whenever the alignment is to ‘difficult’ for RC. (bundle adjustment is not converging?)
Try to reconstruct small portion of the scan first, or add control points.(Or do both it’s even better)
It always work for me at some point, but it can be painfully slow & long…
Interesting. What do you mean by difficult? In terms of material, object geometry or aquisition limitations?
If it is something internal, then it seesm to have been introduced woth one of tha latest updates.
In my experience such crashes did not happen with earlier versions…
Sorry for the late answer,
I’m principally reconstructing interior space(not really the best use-case for RC) with un-calibrated camera and a correct but definitely not really good image quality (But a lot of images)
So RC alignment can easily get “lost” and fail to produce a good alignment(and actually just crash, as in the screenshot, most of the time if I’m not being careful).
I’m not using RC for a long time and maybe it was effectively not like that a few month ago.
And I agree that I prefer to have a crappy results(hundreds of components with 2/3 images and a few good ones), than just a crash telling it has “facing an unexpected program state”…
