Steps to Reproduce
Hop into a game with save data, play said game then leave and come back. Your data will be lost. This is happening with older save data as well. Already established games are having players lose data as well.
So far in all the grind maps I play, it isn’t a full wipe, but rather it just stopped saving and players are not seeing any progress from that point save. Here is a clip to show just in case.
This is the second time in just a few weeks that it has happened and it always results in players being frustrated (as they should be) but with us creators receiving that backlash even though we have no control over it. For creators building communities, it causes players to lose trust in us (and our games) as developers.
It would be much appreciated if Epic would post about it on Twitter, and even better, find a solution to stop this from happening all together!
Any users that were reporting persistence issues starting today, please have them check again to verify that their data is present. Note - any sessions that are still ongoing from before we released the fix will still have this issue, so it is recommended that they reboot Fortnite and check in a private session to ensure they are in a session with the change present.
