UE4 Workstation

Hello everyone.
Tomorrow im going to order my new workstation, especially for UE, maya… (80%) and then games (20%).
I plan to take this setup:

  • amd ryzen 1700
  • nvidia gtx 1060
  • 500 GB SSD
  • 1 TB HDD
  • 16 GB RAM 3200 MHz

for price ± 1500€

What do you think? Is it fine or should i put more money into some of these components? (like 1060 -> 1070, or 16->32 ram…?)
Thanks for any thoughts.

That seems pretty good–as far as RAM is concerned if you think about what project you want to do if it requires a lot of geometry to use baked lighting then you would want more.
You could possibly drop to 2133MHz or 2400MHz to save money and then get another 16GB
Also look into a M.2 SSD if you can afford it, it’s faster.
