UE4 Window/Viewport Focus Issues

I’m a new user of UE4 and having a frustrating time in several areas. I’m hoping I’m doing something wrong and (when corrected) the frustrations will go away.

Why is focus in UE4 so insanely bad?

For example: I have a 4 viewport setup and 1 viewport is highlighted and a single object selected. I hit the ‘F’ key to focus on the object… it doesn’t work. Why doesn’t it work?.. because UE4 has lost focus and is not respecting my keyboard shortcut press. If I deselect the object and reselect the object, maybe it will work, maybe not. If I manually highlight the main window titlebar, maybe it will work, maybe not. Why all the nonsense?

For example: I have a 4 viewport setup and 1 viewport is highlighted and a single object selected. Now I want to highlight a different viewport… how exactly do I do this? I don’t want to deselect and reselect the object again. I don’t want right-click menus popping open for grins. I just want to select a different viewport.

Is there a magic keypress which will bring focus back to the land of the mouse cursor?

Is there a magic keypress which will select a viewport without all the other nonsense?

I have a workstation with 4 monitors. My desktop is literally 5 feet wide. When I run complex apps such as 3dsmax, Unity, UE4… I have the UIs of these apps spread all across the desktop. 3dsmax and Unity (and others) work flawlessly. Does UE4 have focus problems when running ‘spread out’?

Thanks for any ideas!
