UE4 Landscape Creation

My team and I are curious on what is the best way to create landscapes in UE4. What I mean by this, what is the best way to create a large size game map.

  1. Create the landscape and models then import them into UE as 1 big set of meshes in Maya or something.

  2. Use the UE terrain editor, build the landscape, then add models on top of that?


In my opinion this is the best way:

-create your landscape in world machine and split it up in different parts
-import them into the landscape tool and use the world composition tool (so that you can do level streaming)
-create your meshes in your 3d program and import them
-place your meshes into the level :slight_smile:
