UE4 crashes when placing a model from the content browser

Hi,

It had been fine until I moved some contents from one folder to another, moved total three folders and then deleted those empty folders. I kinda remember it said “reference something…” in a dialog window before hitting the delete button, but didn’t think it was important. When I tried opening the level next time I got some errors of those model and they weren’t in the level so I moved those folders back to the original spot and the level opens fine now. However, I can’t drag drop another new model this time and it keeps crashing. I can’t even save the level. Is there any solution for this?

I crash 4.7 a dozen times a day. Does the automated crash submission not work? Should I be manually posting stuff on UE Answerhub for each crash?

Delete the “chair_tripp_trapp” mesh and try it again :slight_smile: (probably it will work)

Thank you for your reply. I deleted all models that I moved and those folders that they were in but still crashes when trying to add a different model. Do I need to save the level after deleting, then placing a model?

If you’re willing it is always appreciated for crashes to be reported via the AnswerHub as well as submitting via the CrashReporter.

Unfortunately, the crash reporter doesn’t always have information that may help us reproduce the crash and get it reported. Sometimes it can take a few days for the report to get into the system as well. That’s why it’s best to post on the AnswerHub in the **Bug Reports **section. One of the support staff will be assigned this issue to look into further.

You can use the link in my signature for “How to report a bug” to know what information is needed when reporting a bug crash to save a little time.

Once you post on the AnswerHub can you make sure to post the link to the AnswerHub question here as well?
