My is too slow to run unreal editor. It will load eventually, but I was hoping there was I a way I could run iOS packaging from the command line. Is this possible?
I have an older that has serious trouble running the editor, but I found it is usable if you switch the viewport to unlit. It looks like 1995, but it runs fast enough to use and deploy to the device.
It is possible to build from the command line in OSX (Epic even has a tool to do it over the network from Windows), but I haven’t attempted it yet so I don’t know the specifics.
Thanks, that helps a lot. Where can I find out more about the over network option?
Awdogsgo2heaven wrote a detail guide about that:
If your MacBook is unusually slow, for no apparent reason, you must try out something called a system management controller reset. It is a soft reset that can sometimes do wonder to get a up and running. The SMC reset is a multi-step process, although a very simple one. You can find instructions in this post that talks about how to fix slow problems.
Another thing that would help a lot if you haven’t done it yet is get an SSD in there - on mine, nearly all my speed issues came down to the HD.
With 4.4.0 released today, the editor performance under OS X is significantly improved from 1 fps to 15 fps.
Thank you very much EPIC :o

Sadly, the Editor crashes as soon as I open the Material Editor.

That way we can gather more info and investigate further. Note that an Intel HD 3000 GPU is well below the minimum specifications and suffers from a known performance bug. Still, it shouldn’t crash.
