I’m coming from the old-school based on specular and I’m having some issues adapting my workflow to metalness, specially I miss how to tint reflection only.
Imagine just a red object where its reflection is green at narrow angles… how do you make that?
Unfortunately there isn’t a default iridescent or pearlescent material in UE4, so you’ll have to do some work in the material editor to adjust the tint based on viewing angle, there’s a few threads out there on this topic you can find with a quick Google search.
PBR was designed to cover the majority of materials, but there’s still a lot of special case materials that you’ll have to make a custom material for.
