Thread for general performance tips

Hello,

couldn’t there be a collection of general performance tipps, e.g. disable ticking whenever it isn’t needed? Or using opaque over masked over translucent materials or DitherTemporalAA for fake-translucency if it looks okay? Disable ticking of skeletal meshes if the animation is not seen by the player and it isn’t important that the animation continues while the player does not see it (e.g. it should if it is a clock, but it most likely has not to continue if it is a rotating hologram neon sign)?

I think a big collection of tips like those could be good and everyone could contribute to it. Though, I cannot make a thread like this because I’ve got not enough experience to evaluate the contributed tips if they’re useful or not.
