The Unreal Marketplace Improvement and Feedback Thread

Hi Epic team! Can you pls add the ability to remove unwanted assets from personal Vault?
(there’re many abandoned plugins that clog vault and can’t be deleted)

I don’t know if this popped up, it probably has…
Rather simple and easy, yet in my opinion very powerful feature:

  • Ability to filter out Owned content in the marketplace

The freebies are great! But sometimes there appear new all-time-free assets, sometimes it’s just new free-for-the-month assets. Especially for free content, the only thing you are interested in is finding the things you DON’T have. This would be very simple to implement, but it would help a LOT.

Hello,

I’ve the problem that my “Tresor”-library contains more than 140gb of data. So it is often frustrating to find certain items even though I know I own them.

So I’ve some suggestions for the “Marketplace” and the “Tresor”:

  • An option for deactivating the auto-search-function at the searchfields at the client would be great. If i’m trying to enter a searchtext often some characters are missing, because the client seams to start searching with the first entry.
  • Also would it be great, if there would be any “searching-indicator” (for example a “process bar” or a simple “light”) for knowing that the search is still running. I am often unsure whether the search has already ended or whether results are still being displayed (“Marcetplace” and “Tresor”).
  • Marking favorites at the “Tresor” would be also a great option. I use some items in my library significantly more than others, so it would be realy great, if I could mark those as favorites and could filter them.

I really think that I wouldn’t be the only one to celebrate these additional options. Actually, many users should have the same problems.

Thank you for the Unreal Engine and everything you do for us, Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and stay safe!

Hello everyone. Why UE4 marketplace still don’t have sort by popularity option like Unity’s? It saves tonns of time when searching for something. Now you have to go through a lot of pages, searching for good assets, recommended by other users. Popularity sorting depends on what, downloads, rating and added date? It’s not that hard to connect all this for best sorting option. It would’ve made marketplace much better.

Hard limit of 50? Really?

It would be nice if it had a filter called “Not owned” or “Hide owned” to not show owned items. Especially useful when combined with “Free” or low Price Range filters to avoid clutter and searching among items you own already. Would ease the server too, not having to bring images etc. info for owned items. In fact it could have that filter turned on by default

I was just thinking on the same thing today while looking if I have forgot to get any free package at the launcher, which made to browse 28 pages worth of free assets to be sure I didn’t miss any.

^ This ^

  1. Pack is Owned / Purchased already / NOT Owned / Purchased already
  2. Pack is Online-Multiplayer-Ready / NOT Online-Multiplayer/Singleplayer

@Unreal_Josh
^These^ are the most useful FILTERS missing from the Marketplace imho.

Today, my launcher was automatically updated to 12.0.2, but when I was importing some assets, I found that the download progress bar of some assets flashed by, and there were no files in the project. I would like to ask if the launcher update caused any errors? thank you !

Any chance the marketplace can be fixed to display more than 1000 items?

Here’s another idea for you,
Right now when I get the message to update an item in my vault, I have to play find the needle in the haystack because I have lots of marketplace items. How about adding a section between projects and the Vault listings called “Update” where each vault item needed an update is listed. That way its easy to find an update your assets.

Did the minimum payout amount change recently?

i have more of a complaint than anything, but only because i’m not sure how to even start thinking about fixing it. Long story short, Tax Season, im attending fullsail university for game design, and my bank thinks its funny to call out fraud apparently even tho we do this like twice a year, get large sums and go through them quickly because we spend months beforehand planning it out…they once again realized it wasn’t fraud, we responded yes to all messages, and confirmed on the website it was us…then today, i go to buy the Logic Driver Pro plugin, and epic has prevented me from making any purchases for 24 hours. idk if Epic flagged me for fraud suspicion too, which ok i get it…but why did i not get any emails or notifications all day long before i went to purchase that plugin that i was finally ready for after preparing all day…oooooKAAAY…im going to wrap it up there cause im starting to get annoyed at my own whineing. but seriously idk what to suggest. is there some sort of limit to how much or how many you can purchase on the market per day? cause that woudl actually make sense…idk why youd do that as a platform but…i dont think thats the issue. pretty sure its fraud auto pop just annoyed it happend in the longest span without direct contact to support.

and thank you to anyone who made it this far, apparently i think im more annoying than you.

Have multiple accounts as the 999 asset display limit. One account and no limit would be great. Also wishlist at 50 limit is annoying, some of us have more wishes
It would also great to search or filter what we own in the marketplace store. Maybe by typing “Owned” in the store search bar.

As a publisher, I would like to have an option to notify my customers by e-mail of my product updates and new releases. Like having marketing tools just inside the marketplace.

How about fix the launcher so it stops lagging because we own so many assets, allow us to hide assets. And the launcher always goes away and then we have to re-click on the launcher and re-click on our library and then retype what we had already typed. It’s really annoying it can’t remember where it last was instead it resets. I could deal with the laggyness of loading over 600+ assets but come on, let us hide the assets we know we will probably never use again. Have a small check box next to each asset that says “hide”. Then in the settings have the list of hidden assets incase we have to unhide them. The category filter is kind of useless when trying to find an asset that isn’t in the right category half the time.

Also let us hide the “My Projects” section, a lot of us don’t even use that section. I never once used it in over 5 years, this is because I have so many backups the “My Projects” is just filled with my infinite backups lol It’s really fun trying to add assets to to main project when there are over 50 copies to sift through. I always launch projects through their folder or my main project through a program I made that launches it and makes auto backups of it. Yes all these backups save me so many times! I have deleted their reference in the EditorSettings.ini a lot but this takes time away from my main project. I’m probably going to end up having my program auto delete all those project references when I get some spare time, probably faster then waiting for Epic to add the option. lol

Another annoying thing is after we buy a new asset from the Marketplace we have to close the launcher multiple times before out new asset can be found in the launcher. Half the time we have to go to the settings and click update or whatever to be able to download it. In my opinion the launcher is so clunky x 1 million.

Lastly the 1000 asset limit per account is really bogus, please fix the launcher already before I reach 1000 assets lol

I guess I’m just asking for the launcher to give us a little more control, this would speed up our productivity.

Exactly! I would like to have at least 100 wishes, it seems like 50 is for noobs lol

I agree, the 50 limit is really just ridiculous, I ran into it yesterday and it’s really annoying.

Also I would suggest an option to EXCLUDE already owned assets from a list.

Amazing
