The Epic Games Launcher hangs during install on new Mac Pro

I try to install the Epic Games Launcher on a new Mac Pro to install Twinmotion for Mac,
but the Installer hangs and freezes when it tries to configure my acount.

I am in the same situation. The only way to get out of it is to force quit.
