I have texturing stuck problem with multiple models. If I switch from visibility based to photo-consistency based texturing, problem is gone, but texturing looks worse than usual.
I’m using latest version, drivers are up to date, my license is PGM.
Have tried resetting app to factory default, reinstalling RC, resetting windows, clearing cache folder, nothing works…
Any idea?
P.S. I had CLI license till February, and everything worked well in previous version. I will try to open one of my project that I did in the previous version to see If problem is in the new release.
EDIT:
Ok, I did some research. For this particular (turntable) project i’ve deleted all the background from the photos and leave it white (see attachment). Obviously this method works great for aligning and meshing, but for some reason not for texturing (at least in the latest release). Texturing is stuck at 13%, and you can not even abort the progress (you can still navigate trough the software, rotate model, etc.) As I said, texturing with deleted backgorund worked just fine in the previous versions.
I’ve tried to process some of my older project with unedited photos, and everything works just fine.
older release (CLI licence though), everything worked as a charm
newest version, unedited photo - no problem
EDIT 2: I can ignore my PC as source of the problem since I’ve tried on laptop, and problem is still there.
Please help, now I’m 95% sure that problem is in the software. Is there any place where I can upload the data so support crew can replicate the problem?
Umm honestly. I do not recommend doing this manual masking in our software. Even if it would work and no errors occured, you will mostly get worse results than when using full photos due to RC actually taking the background as points in space for better alignment. Also, I do not think you would experience any texturing issues when leaving the background in the images.
If this is needed for your shooting workflow (rotating the subject physically) then I recommend you to rather use a featureless background when shooting (white/black cloth/paper) then I am quite sure the two sets will connect well, without any masking needed.
I was doing this manual masking because this is turntable project. I have static background and rotating object. The fact is that in the previous version results were phenomenal (aligning, meshing and texturing). Only problem in newest release is that texturing gets stuck at certain percentage
I will try to create mask from white space, and see if there is still “error”.
