I guess making layer textures is more efficient than laying a mask texture. When i first seen the texture system it freaked me out. I had thought the when you pick the paint texture tool, that you just pick a texture an spray, or apply it directly to the landscape. I didn’t know i had to create the layers for it first. It just seems like it would a been easier to do it that way, an less time consuming. For more experienced developers they can use the layers system to custom do the textures, an leave the option for beginners to just click an apply. Just an opinion.
