Hello, i need help. I have placed custom textures / material on my buildings in Unreal Engine 5 but when i go test it in game i have a big problem-when placing my own builds (for example wooden wall) and then hitting the wooden wall all textures around the wooden wall will dissapear.Anyone know how to fix this?
Hey ANNITA MAX WAYNN,
Yes, it is fixable, what needs to happen is to create something called Texture Data Assets out of your Materials and place these into the Texture Data - Primary Slot.
To Create a Texture Data Asset, right click in your Content Browser, in the menu select Miscellaneous, then Data Asset, then when the window pops up choose Building Texture Data.
It should make a new Icon, usually in your projects Materials folder, double click that and add your Material to the Override Material Slot, save and close.
Then select the building pieces you want to have the material, in the Details Panel, you should see Texture Data - Primary, Secondary, Tertiary etc and drag the Texture Data Asset into the Primary Slot.
That should be it…
There is also the issue of the Fortnite Breaking effect when damaged, if you want that to happen let me know.
