I’m importing a 4096 x 4096 texture and seeing some odd behaviour. It’s becoming massively downsampled during the import process but keeps its dimensions.
What I get:
What it should look like:
I’ve tried resaving it as JPG and PNG and changing the texture group but it makes no difference.
Hey Antidamage,
I just imported a 4k resolution texture in 4.11.2 engine version and had no issues. Make sure your ‘Textures’ setting is set to ‘Epic’ quality.
Would you mind providing me with your engine version and your ‘dxdiag’?
Thanks,
I’m running 4.11.2. I’m gonna make the assumption that the texture imported correctly back two days ago but it’s actually just some kind of display issue, as I remember it looking alright for a while. My settings are definitely all on Epic.
I’ve verified my engine overnight and rebooted, etc. The problem still exists.
I also resized the texture to 2048 x 2048 and reimported and it continues to display at what looks like the lowest mip level.
I also just created a new blank project and the texture imports and displays fine there. So the problem is related to the project somehow.
DXDiag
I’ve narrowed it down further.
My plugin creates a number of (seemingly) unrelated textures and saves them. I happened to need to delete them all and after I did the low-detail texture in the example immediately came right. I’ll experiment some more.
Sounds good, let me know if you discover any new information.
