Hey SolarVelocity-
Are you setting the Text Render Color in the Defaults tab of the blueprint or in the Details panel of the editor with the actor selected in the viewport?
I have added the actor to the level and have tried changing the colour in the details panel
The default is white when you add it but it displays as black … even if i change the colour in the details panel to red it is still rendered black
Do I need to change the colour in the level blueprint?
Sorry user error
The directional light did not illuminate the text actor, when a point light was placed nearby the text characters appeared white
