Support Stream – Mobile Development - May 5th

  • Is there a way to get the available device memory? It would be good (on Android especially) for dynamically choosing the quality of assets to load for example.
  • This seems like a longstanding issue, but packaging sizes seem a little too fat. We’re talking 50mb+ for a blank project in shipping config on Android. Is there any way to rein this in yet, or will we have to wait for future engine updates?

The below are in regard to future developments, specifically for Android

  • Are there any plans for general performance improvements for older devices, e.g. tegra 3? Fully unlit materials make me cry, and other engines manage feat this just fine.
  • When can we have permanent IAPs that can be restored? At this moment it seems UE4 only supports consummables (on Android)
  • Amazon integration? I’ll give you a hug (Gamecircle, IAPs)
  • Can we get fullscreen mode to get rid of the on screen buttons (back, home, etc.)
