Answers to what?
though this solved with c++ meanwhile.
You get support with and without a subscription. Depending on the question, time and day it could take a while till somebody answers you. You could also post your questions into the forum → there you mostly get a really fast answer
support=Unreal staff answers.
posting to forum already done.
I got an answer but not that I expected
If you manage to find some documentation do pass that along. Because we have ran into many issues where things work perfectly in editor and do not in standalone. Wait till you start running into issues where things work perfectly in the editor and standalone but do not work perfectly when packaged up for release.
Seems like there is alot of inconsistenecy between what you get in the editor and what the final packaged product ends up doing.
and well, just reviewed my questions on forums.
in great percent I was the one who answered my question in time…
for comparision, I have a subscription also for Coherent UI for UE.
well, I had really many problems with Coherent, but their support was quick and helpful in all cases. quick means not inmediately of course, but in a day in most cases.
For dedicated support from Epic staff you would need a custom licence, however they will answer any questions both here and on the forums as quickly as possible, with the rest of us doing our best to help out as well.
The two most recent questions (here and the forums) are both less than 12 hours old, sometimes the person who knows the answer isn’t around to help at the moment, but we try and answer as soon as possible.
okay, thanks.
Hi,
Epic support staff and developers try to answer as many questions as possible, however we are not able to offer guaranteed support for every issue. To assist with the sheer volume of UE4 users, we largely rely on members of the community to help grow each other’s knowledge. While the community is still new we recognize that this may not always be ideal, but we continue to try to fill in the gaps of knowledge with as much documentation and videos as we can possibly create. We are also working towards improvements with the AnswerHub site to make it easier for the community to to find issues which interest them and they could potentially answer, and for members to bring attention to popular questions to increase the likelihood of getting answers, as well as other improvements.
Cheers
I understand your points, but you also can understand my situation, when I use your engine on my workplace and I have deadlines as well There is a difference regarding support if someone cant use something because doesnt understand yet the engine, and a situation as showed in my post, when the same code works in editor and doesnt in standalone mode. I dont inmediately demand a solution, but I would appreciate at least a reaction, am I on right track and I miss sth to set, or I simply cant use that code in standalone mode.
Hi BigaC,
I have assigned a technician to investigate the standalone game issue that you have described. I have also moved your question into the Bug Reports section of the AnswerHub.
Our support team investigates anything that is possibly an error with UE4 itself, so please report any bugs to the Bug Reports section of the answerhub so that it can be prioritized faster.
Thanks!
thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.
