Stereo rendertarget?

Is there some way to put out a different render target for each eye that is properly distorted?
I want to make a portal like non-euclidean gate but the effect doesn’t really work in VR. Found a lot of threads on the subject but no solution.

Ideally I want to be able to do something like the helmet in fantastic contraption.

I am working on a similar thing. In 2d it is simply amazing in VR not so amazing… If I find a answer I will post it here!
