Don’t know if I have put this in the right place, I was just wondering if I have to create a separate state machine for each individual animation. I have some animations which do different things, for example, draw a sword or idle with a sword or attack/defend with sword and shield, any help would be appreciated.
State machines are very good for changing the locomotion state like running,walking,crouching,jumping or swimming where the player is moving. State changes like attacks/defends whats best is to make use of a Blend By Bone. By combining the two you could have your player model running while swinging a sword with out having to create a unique animation set.
