I followed Vertis’ guide and while his sprint animation worked, and he doesn’t have a glitch where his character walks in place for 2-3 times, I do for some reason. Could it be due to the difference in the Engine version? I followed all the directions.

The best place would be to ask a question under the tutorial video, more likely someone had a similar problem and managed to solve it.
How many times have you gone through the tutorial?
You probably did something wrong or didn’t set the right values somewhere so it will be hard to find out exactly what went wrong.
I would start by going over the tutorial again, Virtus is really good and slow with his tutorials.
Can you produce a video or gif of what is actually happening?
