The bug report mentioned was fixed back in 4.9. I attempted to reproduce the crash in 4.13 using the steps that provided above but I couldn’t get it to happen.
If you are still getting this crash in 4.13.2 or 4.14, please provide additional info on how you are reproducing it and I’ll be more than happy to continue investigating.
